I think, in The Impossible Astronaut, Eleven really does die. But then in The Wedding of River Song, he cheats death, and it occurred to me that then of course, he's <i>always</i> cheated death in that situation. So, everything has a starting point--Eleven dies, but then he doesn't. It's like time is a circle--the beginning, but then it becomes a closed loop where what happened never happened. I don't really have anywhere I'm going with this, just that it's an interesting parallel to everything with River, and that it's a throughline during Eleven's tenure as The Doctor.
